PhD Leadership and Policy Program Mission Statement
“Totum opus nostrum in operatione consistit”:
“From scholarly research to compassionate action”.

 

My goal in obtaining a PhD is to ensure that I add to the current body of research on leadership skills and competencies. In every sector of society we see the need for better leaders.  We need leaders who are compassionate, courageous  and capable of turning a vision into reality. I would like to use my research to ensure that we support and develop leaders who will transform our communities, by leading in ways that challenge the status quo, foster inclusive and diverse working and learning environments and ensure that social location and identity no longer determine life outcomes and opportunities. 

 

I am committed to working in service to others and to the Vincentian Core Values. My goal is to use my education to work towards the eradication of racism, prejudice and discrimination which often result in poverty, oppression and loss of dignity.  

 

Ultimately, I would like to use my research to improve leadership practices in a variety of sectors and in so doing, improve the lived experiences of many including students, teachers, school and system leaders and the wider community.
