The wise person doesn't ask, "What have I achieved?" but rather,
"What have I contributed?"
- Marianne Williamson
Over the last few years, I have had a single focus on supporting teachers and leaders in their efforts to improve performance in their personal and professional lives. Toward that end, I have dedicated my efforts to providing articles and giving presentations that support teachers in their efforts to move from teaching to leading. I follow that with mentoring, coaching, and teaching leaders how to move from good to great.

Mission
Being on the Board of Directors for Food4KidsWR is a passion project. I was asked to speak in May 2024 at their annual Breakfast Gala, and it was an absolute pleasure. Food4KidsWR provides food bags on weekends to about 1200 students in the Waterloo Region.
Students who receive food bags from Food4Kids benefit from nutrition and the acts of kindness and generosity that foster hope, optimism, and a sense of belonging.

Rise Up!
The Parent Involvement Committee for the WRDSB organized a wonderful event for caregivers and the wider community to address the issue of how to raise anti-racist upstanders. It is no longer okay for each individual to standby and feel ok in the presence of others racism, prejudice, descrimination and other behaviours rooted in hate. We have to take a stand and raise our children to do the same. The Rise Up event featured Anthony Lee a Titan and Motivational Speaker. Anthony shared his amazing story about the rise of his basketball career and his passion for learning.
The keynote was led by Selam Debs an incredible public speaker, activist and educator.

Women Take Charge
As much as I enjoying being the presenter, I look forward to being in the audience and learning from others. The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce hosted a breakfast series that engaged a number of prominent business women in a series to give back to other women through conversational presentations. The Women Take Charge learning series brought a variety of speakers to the stage. These femal leaders had all overcome challenges to find their a seat at the leardership table.
Each speaker brought their unique perspective to the topic of women and leadership. A key take away for me has been the benefits that women bring to organizations.
They help increase productivity, enhance collaboration, inspire organizational dedication, and improve fairness. That sounds like we need more women in charge!
